A family riding the new water slide at Rapids Water Park somehow managed to flip their raft midway through the ride. Two family members were knocked unconscious, while the other two were deemed to just have "minor bumps and cuts". Unfortunately the father of the group was recovering from brain cancer, and is still under medical supervision. Inspectors have claimed the ride is in perfect working order, and stated the family's combined weight was some 150-200 pounds over the limit for the ride, and this is being pointed to as the cause of the accident.
The Black Thunder water slide is a dark Proslide Tornado slide and has been extremely popular at the park since it opened.
